Members Sailing Projects

Many GYC members are involved in professional sailing competitions, and are committed to take the GYC burgee to all Continents.
 
Some even race for preservation causes such as the Mirpuri Foundation with its own trophy regatta and their successful participation at the Volvo Ocean Race Europe.

Simon Koster

Simon Koster is an extremely experimented sailor that has raced "solo" or with a sailing partner in highly competitive regattas. He is now involved in a new sailing project with an equally credentialed sailor, the Swiss Alan Roura, double finisher of the Everest of the Seas and holder of the North Atlantic record. He took Simon onboard the IMOCA Hublot for 2023 and both are currently racing the Transat Jacques Favre

Mirpuri Foundation

Flavio Marazzi

"Black Star Sailing is a company with the goal of successfully participating in international sailing regattas, while at the same time promoting young talent – from Switzerland if possible." Among other well established names in the community, is GYC Member, Flavio Marazzi, racing for the Black Star Sailing Team in the GC32 an RC44 highly competitive circuits. The Black Star Sailing Team has as well environmental issues as a priority.
