Club Sailing

Although the club has no lake or sea access, we welcome our members to on-land training and on-water education, which is provided on different occasions.

Children are introduced to sailing, our friend’s clubs invite for invitational regattas throughout the year attending regattas and competitions through Europe and overseas, members are regularly participating in races and our Racing team is representing the GYC on various Championships and the Olympics. Interested members are supported with inscription, organisation and other details.

2025 Final

Season report

This summer, the Gstaad Yacht Club once again hosted its Kids Sailing Weekends, welcoming children aged 6–14 from the Saanenland region to discover sailing on Lake Arnensee — no prior experience or membership required.

Guided by dedicated coaches Sophie and Virginie Lienhart, with support from their father, the program combined fun, learning, and safety in Optimist dinghies specially designed for young sailors.

Despite strong winds shortening the final weekend on the lake, activities continued at the clubhouse with an interactive Virtual Sailing Experience for children and parents alike.
